Facebook in the Classroom?!?!?!
Yes, Facebook in the classroom. Think about all of the possibilities for students to explore a historical event, topic, person and all that is relevant to each event, topic or person. Students use Facebook, are very familiar with the process, exposure, and what is important to have on each page. Look at the example of JFK. To create this page, you will need to know information about JFK such as friends, enemies, what would each post on his wall? What would he respond? What images would be important to him? Where was he born, where is he now? This is an activity that will engage students, is cross-curricular, and uses 21st century technology. But don't limit yourself to Facebook - blogs and other web-based collaboration sites.
